Other drones, such as the Bebop, already offer the remote viewing feature, and there are several other "selfie drones" in the works that include Zano, which raised £2.3m on Kickstarter, Axis Nano that raised $40k on Indiegogo, Anura that raised $148k on Kickstarter (cancelled), the Pocket Drone that raised $929k on Kickstarter, and Nixie, that won $500k as a result of winning the Intel "Make it Wearable" Grand Prize. Also worth a mention is Carbon Flyer's mini drone that raised $351k via Indiegogo.
The makers of the ELF claim that it will fit into your pocket, but I guess that depends on how large your pockets are. It can shoot high-definition aerial photos and video, as well as "dronies" on command. For those of you who like to tinker with code, ELF will come with a fully hackable platform.
Prices did start at $49, however the Early Bird price of $55 is no longer, but don't fear because you can still pre-order a self-assembly kit for $65, or one that's pre-assembled for $69. International shipping will be offered for an additional $30, and the estimated shipping date is July 2015.
