Twelve years after the inaugural event, automatica has become established as one of the most important industry events of its kind worldwide. In 2016, 833 exhibitors from 47 countries and approximately 43,000 visitors from 100 countries convened in Munich. Since then the trade fair’s international network has grown steadily over the years. Now a pivotal forum for many different industries, automatica is where investment decision-makers, production and technical managers, planners, designers and developers congregate. This year participation of international companies overall is at a record high and attendance is expected to be 20 percent higher than in 2016. All key players in robotics and automation will be present including Siemens, Volkswagen and Siasung Robot which will exhibit for the first time.
This year the industry sectors most strongly represented will be automotive, electrical engineering, electronics, and metal-processing. Other sectors will include food and beverages, plastics, rubber, medical, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and packaging.
In order to showcase cutting-edge innovation, the fair will include a dedicated area; the Automatica Startup Arena, where thirty carefully selected startups will be invited to showcase their products. It will be an excellent opportunity for them to connect with investors who visit their exhibition stands, and pitch their businesses on stage in front of 40,000 visitors.
It is hoped that startups will use this incredible opportunity to meet key industry players, potential investors, and experts in the robotics and automation industry in order to exchange ideas and initiate new business relationships.
The event will also feature the automatica pitching competition where one startup finalist* will win a fast track ticket to the RobotUnion Jury day. The winning startups will be awarded a place on the RobotUnion acceleration programme and receive €223,000 of equity-free funding!
Mobile World Capital Barcelona will be present at automatica 2018 in Munich, Germany from 19 – 22 June. To find out more, or to request exhibition information, click here.
