Posted By Simon Montford on Oct 31, 2014 Each year nearly a million people in Europe and America suffer from a cardiac arrest. In Europe a mere 8% survives due to slow response times of emergency services. The ambulance-drone is capable of saving lives with an integrated defibrillator. The goal is to improve existing emergency infrastructure with a network of drones. This new type of drone can travel at over 100 km/h (60mph), increasing survival rates substantially. Future versions of the drone will be adapted for other types of emergency such as drowning, diabetes, respirator and trauma.
