Kibby is yet another home security and home automation product that will enter production (Kibby has exceeded its campaign goal on Indiegogo). Good news as you can never have too much choice, right? Other contenders in this space include Branto, Rico, Mother, Cocoon, Notion, Kuna, Campoint, Point, and Blue Maestro.
Kibbi Sensors are waterproof so can be used outside, and the coin-sized battery lasts around a year. Kibbi Sensors can be attached to doors, windows and walls so no need to worry about wiring. Kibbi can monitor temperature and notify if it spikes. It can also detect when doors and windows are opened or closed. It has a movement detector, an HD camera and a mic so home owners can keep tabs on their homes remotely, via the accompanying app that is compatible with iOS, Android and Windows. Free cloud storage (up to 1GB) comes with the package.
All pretty standard really, compared with the competition so it looks like aesthetics is becoming a key differentiator. Will consumers prefer something like the Point smart home monitoring device that attempts to blend in or will buyers be more likely to welcome a smart device into their homes that makes more of a visual statement? Time will tell.
