Pebble, the smart watch pioneer, is probably feeling the heat from all four corners of the market. It seems everyone is jumping on the wearables bandwagon these days. In the States they will reduce the price of both the original Pebble (pictured below) and the Pebble Steel to $99 and $199 respectively. It is assumed this price drop will apply to European customers. In fact Pebble's CEO Eric Migicovsky optimistically claims that he's relieved that most of the major players, specifically Apple, have now opened their collective kimonos. This will enable them to avoid competing head to head by designing products that offer different features. Compared to the Apple Watch, the Pebble does look rather gawky but as one of the true pioneers we remain very fond of it. With the price drop you'll be running out of excuses for not grabbing this Kickstarter classic.
