Posted By Simon Montford on Oct 27, 2014 The Bluesmart will enable you to control your suitcase from your smartphone or smart watch. Actions that you will be able to 'carry out' (see what we did there) via the app includes locking, weighing and tracking. It will also recharge devices while on the move. The Bluesmart complies with TSA regulations and thanks to the proximity sensors, you will receive alerts when your Bluesmart goes out of range. If it does go astray, a proximity heat map will show its last recorded location. The plan is to create a network whereby all compatible luggage will be tracked, globally so no more lost luggage! The Bluesmart app will enable travellers to get real-time reports as well as trends and data about trips, that include miles travelled, airports visited, and duration spent per country. This is not an entirely new concept. Airbus announced a smart baggage concept called Bag2Go last summer (co-developed with T-Systems and Rimowa) offering integrated electronic tagging for paperless check-in. The Bluesmart is doing very well on Indiegogo; the campaign has met its target so we suggest you preorder yours and get packing!
