Posted By Simon Montford on Oct 24, 2014 Kuna is a smart WiFi camera with intercom, built into an outdoor light. It detects people coming to your home and lets you see and speak to them using your smartphone, from anywhere. Check out the video demo here. The device looks like an outdoor light that prevents break-ins by allowing owners to see who is breaking down their front door, instead of waiting for an alarm. It can also allow the owner to speak to delivery personnel, nosey neighbours or door-to-door sales people remotely via their mobile phone and the in-built intercom. Ideal when you are out or you're in but feeling too lazy or anti-social to come to the door, in person.
We really like the concept but we think the concept is flawed. Instead of being built into the light which means you are locked into their limited range of lighting products, the Kuna should be able to integrate with standard off-the-shelf outdoor wall-mounted lighting products.
