Posted By Simon Montford on October 27, 2014 Rico is not the first smart home security device (check out Notion, Mother and Kuna) but it is the first to recognize that many people have un-utilized, previous generation, smartphones that could be put to good use. All you need to do is insert your unused smartphone into Rico and it will measure: noise, temperature, humidity, motion, smoke, and carbon monoxide. Rico can also be used to control devices around the home that are connected to a smart outlet so it could be used for home security if a camera, mic and speakers were to be connected via Wifi, for example.
