The Intelligent Mine project by Industrial digital technology provider, Zyfra, won the IoT Solutions Awards 2019, which recognise the best international projects developed in the field of industrial internet in the last year. Intelligent Mine is a complex solution for highly efficient, safe, completely unmanned mining technology based on robotics, AI and IoT technologies. The project consists of autonomous heavy trucks, infrastructure including automatic gates, traffic lights and data transmission system, control centre with remote operator workplaces and server with FMS for robots to manage and optimise the work. The solution is being implemented at the mine sites of one of the world’s largest mining coal and energy companies SUEK. “With every passing year, mining operations are carried out in progressively more complex and dangerous geological and climatic conditions. Exploiting deposits in the Far North, where there are deserts and mountainous regions with insufficiently developed social infrastructure, significantly complicates the participation of personnel in mining processes, which require highly qualified specialists. In order to increase production efficiency in accordance with industrial safety standards, there is a need to develop innovative solutions for the mining industry. Unmanned vehicles are the key to this”, commented Pavel Rastopshin, Managing Director of Zyfra. Along with the nomination for the Business Transformation Award, Zyfra’s Artificial Lift software has been named among the top 10 breakthrough AI solutions for the real sector. The AI tool for Oil and Gas is designed to help optimise the operation of oil pumps and increase oil production by over 1.5% adding $1.7M revenue per year during its pilot deployment. Zyfra also presented its AI based technology for the optimisation of polymer modified bitumen production, alongside its BucketControl machine vision solution for automated systems, which monitor the condition of excavator bucket teeth. "Today AI and IIoT solution developers are shifting their focus from retail and banking to manufacturing, opening up new possibilities for the development and growth of economic prosperity in the world” - said Alexandr Smolensky, Busines Development Director of Zyfra.
